Species studied and admired at the Reserve are motelo turtles and black caimans; a large variety of fish; cedars, balsa, giant ceibo, laurel, palm, and pambil trees; epiphytes, bromeliads, orchids, mosses and vines; night monkeys, howler monkeys, and jaguars. The region is habitat for at least 53 species of mammals, 92 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 93 species of fish. Each of the charming cabins has two roomy, comfortable beds, mosquito netting, a nightstand with drawers, a table, a flush toilet, a sink, and a shower.
